This CAN Happen
We can learn to love one another and to dance along to the ancient rhythms that creep up and down our DNA, pounding our hearts and driving all of us wild with anticipation for the next mutation.
We can learn to live without all of the frivolity and the inanity of the modern capitalist ideal, choosing instead to live in a physically minimal and spiritually maximal state.
We can stop doing what we are doing and refuse to do it for another goddamn day until the powerful elite of the world choose to take apart their nuclear weapons and to put their safety switches back on.
We can stop encouraging our children to spend their days playing murder simulating video games which dehumanize not only the illusory enemy but the child itself.
We can stop believing the lie that says that spending an exorbitant sum on an item of clothing makes that article of clothing more valuable, thereby giving us value.
We can ascertain our true value, which is present at birth in a crying bloody SCREAM for life and love and human touch.
We can stop feeding ourselves ten times more than our bodies need to sustain us.
We can stop paying for war.
We can march into the streets and demand that the coercive apparatus we call government be dissolved, that we may never again experience state tyranny, police brutality, or the perverse tragedy of military occupation.
We can stop and reevaluate the lives we have lived and see that they have been spent trying to build ourselves up in the eyes of others out of some imposed insecurity that has always whispered into our ears “you are not good enough just as you are.”
We can vulnerably declare our insecurities and our fears and our deepest thoughts to the world, and watch as our vulnerability enhances our relationships and melts the cold frost from the hearts of those who have manipulated and tormented us before.
We can forgive unequivocally, without pretext, without any demand.
We can stop elevating ourselves to the level of some hypothetical God by judging the type and quality of all other people.
We can cast off this cold-war of social normality, and rather be who we are precisely and without apology.
We can see culture for what it has been, a force which separates humans, quantifying and qualifying all human traits and characteristics and then attempting to abolish to the grave those that do not fit.
We can breathe deeply and realize that nothing is likely to be as it seems, and that perhaps we are all one living breathing universal anomaly, forever unified into a whole that some people have glanced at and called “God.”
We can march forward into the world and into space to discover what is REALLY going on here.
We can know all that there is to know and feel all that there is to feel.
We can feed every child.
We can stop allowing ourselves to be medicated into submission by television and Prozac-Xanax cocktails.
We can stop spending our precious lives doing nothing new and nothing great, when, for all we know, this may be the one single life we have to live, leading into the abyss of nothingness after death.
We can tear down these fucking walls.
Humanity is the hope I see.
